It was not until after he was convicted of attempting to have sex with a 15 year old boy that the HIV status of Willie Atkins was made known to a jury. This resulted in some good Texas justice of the form of a life sentence. He would have faced just 10 years, but he was already a two time felon which made him eligible for a life term. That was not the end of the story by a long shot. Police went over video tapes of activities at his residence and estimated that he exposed at least 131 other young men to HIV. #willieatkins #hivandaids #dallas #texas
