Julio Rivera of Daytona Beach, Florida was arrested in July for spitting on a South Daytona firefighter and then admitting that he is HIV positive. He is currently charged with one count of intentionally transmitting HIV and a lot of other charges. It is not clear from media reports if the firefighter actually tested positive for the virus or not, but seeing as how he was charged before a traceable amount of HIV could have been detected, it appears to be an allegation based on exposure.
